Warranty Policy
Scope of this Warranty Policy
This Warranty Policy applies to products purchased from 1224.com.au that were operating correctly when delivered but have subsequently developed a fault during normal use.
If your order arrives damaged, incorrect, or you wish to return it because you have changed your mind, please refer to our Returns Policy.
Your Rights Under Australian Consumer Law
1224.com.au complies with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
Nothing in this Warranty Policy limits or excludes your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Manufacturer's Warranty
Most products sold by 1224.com.au are covered by a manufacturer's warranty. The applicable warranty period, where provided by the manufacturer, is generally listed on the relevant product page or supplied with the product.
Where a warranty claim is approved, the manufacturer or 1224.com.au may, depending on the circumstances and the nature of the fault:
- Repair the product;
- Replace the product;
- Provide a refund where required under Australian Consumer Law or the manufacturer's warranty.
The remedy provided will depend on the nature of the fault, the manufacturer's warranty terms, and your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
Warranty Conditions
To make a warranty claim you must:
- Provide proof of purchase from 1224.com.au.
- Allow us reasonable opportunity to assess the product.
- Follow any reasonable troubleshooting steps requested before the product is returned.
- Return the product if requested for inspection or assessment.
Unless otherwise stated by the manufacturer, warranties apply only to the original purchaser and are not transferable.
A repair or replacement does not restart or extend the original warranty period unless required by Australian Consumer Law.
Warranty Does Not Cover
Warranty claims may be declined where a fault has resulted from:
- Incorrect installation.
- Failure to follow installation or operating instructions.
- Misuse, abuse or neglect.
- Accidental damage.
- Water ingress where the product is not designed for that environment.
- Incorrect voltage, wiring or electrical faults external to the product.
- Unauthorised modifications or repairs.
- Normal wear and tear.
- Cosmetic damage that does not affect product performance.
- Damage caused by environmental conditions, contamination, corrosion or improper storage.
Assessment & Return Costs
Some manufacturers require products to be inspected before a warranty decision can be made.
Unless Australian Consumer Law requires otherwise, customers are responsible for the cost of returning products for warranty assessment.
If the product is confirmed to have a manufacturing defect and the warranty claim is approved, 1224.com.au or the manufacturer will generally cover the cost of returning the repaired or replacement product to you.
How to Make a Warranty Claim
Before returning any product, please contact our customer support team.
To help us assess your claim quickly, please provide:
- Your order number or proof of purchase.
- A description of the fault.
- Photos or videos showing the issue where applicable.
- Product serial number (if applicable).
In some cases we may ask you to perform simple troubleshooting steps before authorising a return. This often resolves the issue more quickly and avoids unnecessary delays.
Where products have been permanently installed (such as battery systems, solar equipment or power management products), we may request photographs of the installation before the product is removed to assist with diagnosis.
If a return is required, we will provide instructions for the warranty assessment process.
Force Majeure
1224.com.au will not be liable for delays in processing warranty claims where circumstances beyond our reasonable control prevent us from doing so. These circumstances may include natural disasters, severe weather, fires, floods, pandemics, strikes, transport disruptions, government actions or other events beyond our control.
We will make every reasonable effort to process warranty claims as soon as practical once normal operations resume.
